Willys Detroit, a sister store to Shinola Detroit, celebrated its grand opening Saturday, June 14 at 10 a.m. Consisting of 2,900 square feet of retail space, the new multi-brand store will bring an assortment of fashion, home and apothecary brands to a growing retail district in Midtown Detroit.
“We felt Willys was a great opportunity to augment the growing retail experience in the Midtown district,” said Daniel Caudill, Shinola Creative Director. “Together with our neighbors, such as City Bird, Nora, Hugh, Flo Boutique and many others, the groundwork has already begun to transform the area into a true shopping destination that will appeal to a wide variety of consumers.”
Willys Detroit is anchored by four classic American brands: Filson, a Seattle manufacturer of unfailing goods for outdoor enthusiasts; Steven Alan, a heritage inspired clothing line from New York; Clare V, a maker of handbags and accessories crafted in Los Angeles; and Mollusk, a surf wear company based in San Francisco and Venice Beach.
A variety of Detroit and Michigan-based brands will also be featured in the store, including: Abigail Murray, Debbie Carlos, Detroit Rose Candles, Detroit Surf Co., Kate Tremel Clay, Kerosene Fragrances, Lost and Found Vintage, Rebecca Grubba and SMPLFD.
“Willys is an innovative shop concept whose design will evolve as we introduce and embrace the personality of new brands in the store. From month-to-month the store will change shape, adding an element of discovery with each visit,” added Caudill.
In addition, DROUGHT, the cold-pressed juice company, will move its retail space from the Shinola store to Willys, continuing to serve its fresh juice and healthier food items.
Willys is located at 441 W. Canfield, Detroit, MI 48201 and store hours are as follows:
Mon-Fri, 10AM-7PM; Saturday, 10AM-6PM; and Sunday, 11AM-5PM
