Mulafilms to hold premier of new action film, Five-O at Southfield Star Theater

FullSizeRender-1 Detroit based production company Mulafilms, Nelson McQueen Consulting, and Detroit Cinema make up a dynamic triad of local filmmakers and producers who have successfully premiered two films  in a manner usually reserved for bigger budget mainstream films complete with red carpet and paparazzi at the Star Theater in Southfield.

This Saturday, the innovative group will be releasing, “Five-O”, the story of two inner city police officers living on the wrong side of the law.

In a world where police brutality and corruption are at its peak this film about two Detroit cops, JP (Martell Lane) & Len Stacey (Thomas L. Harris) who must become apart of the problem in order to satisfy their personal needs seems very timely. JP, is a crooked cop whose driven merely by the money while Officer Len only wants his share to save his sons life. The pair come up with a plot to attack the city’s top drug dealers in order to attain the money, while keeping in mind that no one is above the law… so they must not be caught in the act.

Mulafilms takes their vision to new heights with an exciting plot, unexpected twists, new locations, and an impressive cast therefore there are no questions that the core fan base will turn out in large numbers.

In the past their films, “2Eleven” and “Buffed Up”, have starred Detroit Natives such as Rapper Kash Doll, Rapper Young Jeemaxresdefaultzy’s  Group DoughboyzCashout, Radio Personality DJBJ, XSO group member, singer Paige Speights, and a host of other Detroit entertainment pioneers.

The Mulafilm premiers have become known Buffed-Up-youtubeas a Detroit cinematic phenomenon in the local independent film community due to their high attendance volumes and their ability to sell out the biggest theaters in the venue which provides a great outlet to reach the urban Metro Detroit market.

The premier for “Five-O” will take place on April 9, 2016 at 6pm at the Star Southfield Theater.
