Monique Marks & FWS Spirit of Giving

130 Years Moving Forward Toward a Strong Community

The annual Franklin-Wright Settlements Spirit of Giving fundraiser dinner, its signature event was a success, which recognized the contribution of charitable philanthropists, Mildred Gaddis and KEM for their dedication, commitment and service to the SE Michigan region. Anqunette Jamison of FOX2, our Mistress of Ceremonies was moved by the stirring stories of a young woman who lost her mother to suicide and her father to murder in the same year. Anqunette Jamison said, “Shavonna you have gone through more in your young life than most people do in a lifetime. Don’t look at bad times as a obstacles but as stepping stones to move up and on with your life.”

“It is our duty and responsibility as the creator has blessed us to give back to those who are in need,” Mildred Gaddis said.

Franklin-Wright Settlement Inc. was able to help the young woman through counseling, getting her back in school and giving her a sense of well being that she did not have.

“It is up to all of us to give back. For me to continue to be blessed I have to give back,” KEM the award winning recording artist said. “Franklin-Wright Settlement Inc. is that special organization that provides valuable and much needed service to the community. They help real people each and every day,” Kimberly B. Davis Franklin-Wright board member said.

“Help the child. Preserve the family. Strengthen the community. That is the mission of Franklin-Wright Settlements and that’s what the staff work towards every day. This is a great team and I could not be prouder of the work that we do everyday.” Monique Marks, President and CEO of Franklin-Wright Settlements, Inc. was featured on Fox2 news the morning of this signature event.
