As of March 22, there are now 1,035 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the State of Michigan. Over 400 of these cases reside in Wayne County. Below is case information from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS):

Percentage of Cases by Age

  • 0 to 19 years — 1%
  • 20 to 29 years — 8%
  • 30 to 39 years — 14%
  • 40 to 49 years — 18%
  • 50 to 59 years — 19%
  • 60 to 69 years — 20%
  • 70 to 79 years — 12%
  • 80+ years — 7%

There have been eight COVID-19 related deaths in Michigan.

Here are preventative measures you can use to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19, call your health care provider. If you do not have a health care provider, call the nearest hospital.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or upper sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • If you are sick, stay home, and avoid contact with others.
  • Stay at least 6 feet away from others when in a public setting.
