'Michigan Chronicle' announces Pancakes & Politics 2015 Season Opener

PP 2015 FP AD REVISED
The Michigan Chronicle is in high gear for the 10th season of its highly anticipated speakers’ series Pancakes & Politics.  Delivering sold out crowds each year, we are proudly celebrating 10 years of provocative panels, passionate policymakers and progressive patrons.
The 2015 season will kick off on Thursday, March 19 at the Detroit Athletic Club. The panel, titled The New Detroit?, will address Detroit’s Progress and How We Ensure All Detroiters Have Access to Economic Opportunities. Panelists for the event include David Blaszkiewicz, president and chief executive officer of Invest Detroit, Reverend Wendell Anthony, president of NAACP Detroit branch and newcomer Rodrick Miller, president and chief executive officer of Detroit Economic Growth Corporation.
“The ‘Pancakes & Politics’ series is designed to attract a diverse group of policy and decision-makers in Southeast Michigan to generate dialogue and debate around the issues that affect the economic and social well-being of the community,” said Hiram E. Jackson, publisher of the Michigan Chronicle. “The series’ overall goal is to provoke thought and generate new ideas in various sectors that will continue to push our community forward.”
The sold-out event will include questions from the audience of Southeast Michigan’s business and political leaders. Emmy Award-winning senior producer and host of CBS 62’s “Michigan Matters,” Carol Cain, is moderating the breakfast forum.
In its tenth season, Pancakes & Politics is presented by PNC Bank and Real Times Media. Additional event sponsors include Bank of America, Health Alliance Plan, Henry Ford Health System, CBS 62, Rock Ventures/Quicken Loans, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Chrysler Group, Chase Bank, Comcast, St. John Providence Health System, and UHY. Our corporate contributors are Greektown Casino, MGM Grand Detroit, and Walker Miller Energy Services, LLC.  Special thanks to our media partners – WWJ 950 and Crain’s Detroit Business.
Additional Pancakes & Politics breakfast forums are scheduled for April 16, May 21 and June 25. Tickets can be purchased by calling (313) 963-8100. Individual tickets are $90.00; $1000 for a table of 10. Sponsor opportunities are available.
