The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is urging Michiganders with low-incomes to apply for their water assistance program.
Aid comes from Michigan’s Coronavirus Relief Funding. Michigan families will be provided with quality water for washing purposes and disinfecting their home.
Plumbing and septic repairs will also be done for families in need. MDHHS is calling on local plumbers with availability and certification to contact the Bureau of Community Action and Economic Opportunity at [email protected].
“At MDHHS we are doing what we can to keep people safe during the pandemic and make sure income limitations – some of which are the result of COVID-19 – don’t prevent them from protecting their families,” said Lewis Roubal, senior deputy director of opportunity for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. “Benefits of this program will remain long after COVID-19 by providing eligible households sustained access to water that everyone deserves.”
Qualified applicants can receive aid from the program now through Wednesday, Dec. 30.
