MAYOR-ELECT MIKE DUGGAN TO RECEIVE 2013 NEWSMAKER OF THE YEAR AWARD

DETROIT, MI – For the past nine years, Real Times Media and the Michigan Chronicle have sought to assess and reflect those who are standouts in the City of Detroit each year. The Legacy in Motion black tie gala, one of the premier metropolitan Detroit events, will celebrate and honor this year’s movers, shakers and newsmakers. Saturday, December 7th from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. several hundred senior level executives, political and business leaders, dignitaries, luminaries and guests will gather at the newly renovated Cobo Conference Center inside the Grand Ballroom in downtown Detroit to pay tribute to a prestigious group of individuals and organizations.

The work done and successes achieved by this distinct class will be celebrated at this annual Legacy in Motion gala. Tickets are $150. Detroit’s own Ed Gordon will serve as event MC. Mayor-elect Mike Duggan will also be present to accept the Newsmaker of the Year honor. Duggan who recently won the Mayoral election as a write-in candidate has been noted for being a turnaround expert. With an undoubtedly long list of issues and opportunities to address, his appearance at the Legacy in Motion event stirs about an aura both of excitement and intrigue.
