Detroit Mayor-elect Mike Duggan did his part to make sure there will be “No kiddie without a Christmas” this year by pitching in to sell newspapers for the Old Newsboys’ Goodfellow fund on Monday morning.

The Old Newsboys’ Goodfellow Fund of Detroit is celebrating its 100th paper sale this year. The organization includes 300 members whose sole mission is to ensure that there is “No Kiddie without a Christmas.”

Each holiday season the Detroit Goodfellows distribute holiday gift boxes to children ages four through 13 living in Detroit, Highland Park, River Rouge, Hamtramck and Harper Woods. Each child receives warm clothing, toys, books, games and candy.

This is the 100th year that the Detroit Goodfellows have preserved this tradition to help metro Detroit children in need.
