With the start of the new school year one week away, City and DPSCD leaders want to report to the community the work that has been done – and that which remains to be done – to make all public schools safe for students and teachers.
Today a 12:15 Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, DPSCD Transition Manager, Judge Steven Rhodes; DPSCD Interim Superintendent Alycia Meriweather; David Bell, Director of Detroit’s Building Safety, Engineering & Environmental Dept.; Jodi Wong, Interim CEO of the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation along with parents and educators will address the issues of school conditions at Bates Academy, 19701 Wyoming at Pembroke.
A brief limited tour of the school will follow.
