DETROIT (WJBK) – Mayor Dave Bing hasn’t met with City Council since June. But that will change today.
According to the city’s website, Bing will sit down with council members at 2 p.m. Monday.
In June, Bing called a special session in an attempt to remove corporation counsel Krystal Crittendon after she challenged the city’s consent agreement with the state. But he abruptly left the meeting, calling it a “sideshow.”
Bing’s office says today’s presentation will focus on his continued efforts to execute his restructuring plan for the city.
“I think he’s going to come down and ask for a higher level of cooperation in regards to getting some of his initiatives through,” said Council President Pro Tem Gary Brown. “We’re going to be expecting a higher level of detail and more specifics.”
