Lt. Governor Gilchrist Jams to ‘Favorite’ Rapper Royce da 5’9″

DETROIT — Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist expressed his love for hip-hop music in a recent sit-down interview. Gilchrist said his favorite rapper of all time is Detroit’s own Royce da 5’9”.

“My favorite, my favorite artist,” said Lt. Governor Gilchrest. He says he grew up on hip-hop and enjoys any song from Royce da 5,9”’s album, “Book of Ryan”. He also talked about his appreciation for artist such as Nas and Kanye.

The exchange of his favorite rappers happened recently in a studio interview with MIX 92.3 radio host Frankie Darcell and Michigan Chronicle Digital Anchor Andre Ash.

It was a candid and free-spoken conversation about music, basketball, and the State of Michigan’s effort to get people vaccinated and take on criminal justice reform.
