A Massachusetts grand jury will hear testimony this month from a man who has accused former NFL star Aaron Hernandez of shooting him in the face in February.
Alexander Bradley was served July 2 with a subpoena and will testify July 17 in Fall River, his lawyer, Robert Pickering, told CNN. Pickering said he had failed to persuade a Connecticut judge that his client’s travel to testify in Massachusetts would be a hardship due to his health and need to travel to Florida for eye care.
Bradley has accused Hernandez of shooting him after the two men visited a Miami strip club.
The former star tight end for the New England Patriots was arrested June 26 on a separate accusation. Prosecutors say he planned the execution-style killing of his friend Odin Lloyd after the two had a falling out last month at a nightclub.

Authorities say Hernandez and two other men picked up Lloyd from his Boston apartment on June 17. Surveillance cameras captured images of their car at an industrial park near Hernandez’s home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts. Lloyd’s body was found in the industrial park later that day, authorities have said.
Hernandez, 23, is being held without bail at the Dartmouth House of Corrections in a 7-by-10-foot jail cell.
The two other men, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, are in custody. Wallace is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon, while Ortiz has a court appearance Tuesday.
