Customers can purchase groceries at the new Roseville Kroger without ever leaving their vehicles with The Kroger Co. of Michigan’s newClickList shopping service. The service debuted at the new Northville Kroger in December and will be available Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the new Roseville store. ClickList offers customers the convenience of placing orders online and picking up their groceries at a time convenient for them.
“Anyone with a Kroger Plus account may use the online ordering service but ClickList is especially helpful for seniors, families with small children, busy professionals or those who wish to avoid a little Michigan winter,” said Ken McClure, Consumer Communications Manager, The Kroger Co. of Michigan. “We believe customers will love ClickList because the service saves them time by employing specially trained Kroger associates to do the shopping. Groceries are loaded curbside into customer vehicles.”
Customers place orders at www.kroger.com/clicklist or by selecting ClickList at the bottom of the landing page under Online Services. Individuals indicate the time and date they want to pick up purchases. Orders must be placed before midnight the day before customers want to pick up their groceries.
Once a customer logs into their Kroger Plus account, a list of recent purchases, favorites and products on sale appears. Favorites include items a customer purchases week after week – a certain brand of cereal, a brand and flavor of ice cream, diapers or pet food – and makes it easier to shop among the approximately 40,000 products Kroger offers online.
Shoppers may specify product brands and sizes such as a 12-ounce container of Jif peanut butter. If a specified product is out stock, the trained Kroger associate shopper will substitute an alternative product of similar quality and with a similar price. The customer has the option to purchase or reject the substitute product when he or she picks up and pays for the groceries.
ClickList also allows customers to place special instructions with their orders. A shopper, for example, may request green bananas or an avocado soft enough to eat the next day. He or she may ask for three thick steaks and one thin steak.
“Associate shoppers offer an extraordinary shopping experience by choosing the requested items and selecting the highest quality products available,” McClure said. “They also check the dates on products to confirm customers receive products with the longest shelf life just as they would if they were shopping for their own families.”
Kroger offers customers the chance to try ClickList for free when placing their first three orders. The grocer then charges $4.95 per ClickList order regardless of the size.
ClickList includes no minimum or maximum orders and online shoppers may purchase most products Kroger offers. Shoppers cannot, however, buy hot foods, apparel or seasonal items. And, while they may purchase over-the-counter health and beauty products, they cannot buy beer, spirits, wine, tobacco, cigarettes or pharmacy prescriptions.
