Jury Reaches Partial Verdict in Diddy Trial, Deadlocked on Racketeering Charge

Must read

A federal jury deliberating in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial told a Manhattan judge Monday they’ve reached verdicts on four of five charges but remain stuck on the most serious count—racketeering conspiracy.

The jury, which began deliberations last week, said they are deeply divided and unlikely to agree on whether Combs led a criminal enterprise. Judge Arun Subramanian refused to accept a partial verdict and ordered them to keep going.

Combs, 55, faces multiple allegations from former partners and employees claiming he used wealth, intimidation, and sex to control a network of abuse. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Jurors requested to review key testimony, including that of Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, who alleged years of coercion, violence, and threats at Combs’ hands. They also sought surveillance footage and statements about the so-called “freak-offs,” secret sex parties described during the seven-week trial.

If convicted on the racketeering count, Combs could face life in prison. Convictions on the remaining charges already carry a mandatory minimum of 15 years. Prosecutors described the case as a decades-long pattern of power-fueled predation. The defense argued the relationships were consensual and framed the trial as an overreach into Combs’ private life.

The jury returns Tuesday to attempt a consensus. If they remain deadlocked, a mistrial could be declared on the remaining count, leaving Combs with a partial but still significant legal blow.
