Forgotten Harvest, the nation’s largest and most efficient food rescue organization, announced today that Joel McHale will headline its 23rd Annual Comedy Night on May 1 at the Detroit Opera House.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Forgotten Harvest’s network of over 280 agencies in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. The proceeds will provide metro Detroiters in need with fresh, wholesome and nutritious food.
“Each year, our Comedy Night event has been instrumental in supporting Forgotten Harvest’s mission of relieving hunger in metro Detroit and preventing nutritious food waste,” said Forgotten Harvest CEO Kirk Mayes. “We’re looking forward to an entertaining evening that will positively impact thousands of families in need right here in our community.”
McHale currently stars on the hit comedy series “Community,” which will move to Yahoo for its sixth season after five seasons on NBC. He was most recently seen in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced supernatural thriller “Deliver Us from Evil” and appeared in Warner Bros’ romantic comedy “Blended” alongside Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. His additional film credits include Seth MacFarlane’s comedy smash “TED,” “What’s Your Number?,” “The Big Year,” “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World” and “The Informant.”
McHale continues to satirize pop culture and current events each week on E!’s “The Soup.” His quick wit and sharp comedic timing have made the show a pop culture phenomenon and have led to his 2013 spinoff series, “The Soup Investigates.” He also performs his stand-up act around the country to sold-out audiences.
