Huffington Post Introduces OWN Section

New York, New York – November 1, 2012 – The Huffington Post Media Group and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network today launched HuffPost OWN a new section on The Huffington Post website providing practical advice and ideas to help users find motivation, inspiration and fulfillment.

HuffPost OWN will include selections from this year’s list of Oprah’s Favorite Things from O, The Oprah Magazine’s Holiday O List, featured in the December issue, one of the most popular and recognized traditions of the Oprah Winfrey brand. The site will also exclusively feature Favorite Things trivia, a video montage of the best Favorite Things moments from “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and an inside look at celebrity gifts that Oprah added to her Favorite short list.

“Oprah was about engagement and authenticity long before engagement and authenticity ruled the web,” said Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group. “And since those qualities are deeply embedded in the DNA of both OWN and HuffPost, I’m delighted that we’ll be working together to enlarge and deepen the conversation on living our best lives, as Oprah puts it.”

“I am delighted to join the conversation online at The Huffington Post,” said Oprah Winfrey. “We’ll be sharing some of the very best from OWN – life lessons and soul shifting moments as well as expert advice from some of today’s most inspirational thought leaders – all designed to help you have a happier, more fulfilled life.”

The special Oprah-branded experience will combine the Huffington Post online community and the loyal followers of Oprah.com, creating a new platform where users can engage on a more emotional and personal level, and discuss important topics relating to lifestyle, health, relationship and personal empowerment.
