Holiday Detroit is gearing up to light up the Music Hall once again, bringing its signature sparkle, spirit, and Motor City magic to the stage on Dec. 18 for its seventh annual showcase. The one-night event promises a high-voltage mix of music, movement, and storytelling that celebrates the city’s creative heartbeat.
The production is known for its explosive choreography, vibrant costumes, and a playlist that swings from Motown to gospel to hip-hop. Producer and Director Lisa McCall said the team is raising the bar even higher this year. “Each season we continue to evolve, and this one is bigger, bolder, and more breathtaking than ever,” McCall said. “When your goals outweigh your excuses, magic occurs.”
With eight musicians, eight background singers, three African drummers, 21 professional dancers, 75 students from Voyageur College Preparatory High School, and a full production crew, the show is designed to feel less like a performance and more like an immersive holiday revival. This year’s talent lineup adds extra wattage, including New York–based artist Khalia Campbell, Chicago’s Emani Drake, Detroit vocal powerhouse Alise King, multi-team sports performer Angela Davis, Grammy-nominated Temptations lead Tony Grant, and global dance icon Della Hamby.
Holiday Detroit aims to be more than festive entertainment. It’s positioned as a communal reset, blending nostalgia, cultural pride, and pure joy for audiences of all ages. Tickets are on sale now at HolidayDetroit.com, where guests can choose their seats and secure admission for the Dec. 18 show. Audiences can also follow Holiday Detroit on social media for behind-the-scenes content and performance teasers.
The event reflects the creative legacy of McCall, a celebrated choreographer, producer, educator, and entertainment industry veteran with nearly 30 years of experience shaping stages worldwide. From touring with Aretha Franklin to teaching internationally, McCall continues to champion the arts and cultivate Detroit’s next generation of performers. Her accolades include the Spirit of Detroit Award, the Detroit Critics’ Choice Award, the Tri-State Black History Award, and induction into the Michigan Hall of Fame.
Holiday Detroit returns bigger, brighter, and deeply rooted in community. For audiences ready to step into a night of celebration and city-grown excellence, this year’s show may be its most dazzling yet.
