Health and wellness establishments in the state have focused their efforts on tending to the Michigan population. UrbanYou – Modern Beauty and Wellness, a medical spa and beauty bar equipped with the latest in wellness therapy, has made it their goal to offer innovative assistance to Michigan consumers.

Entrepreneur and wellness enthusiast, Nicole Gregory is the CEO of UrbanYou. A restructuring of goals led Gregory, and fellow health experts at UrbanYou, to offer clients an individualistic approach to wellness services.
“We decided at the latter part of 2019 that we really wanted to focus on the whole person,” said Gregory.
Clients are welcomed into UrbanYou where they are instructed to fill out a medical questionnaire and connect with a wellness expert.
“Each client we have comes into one of our locations and they spend about half an hour with one of our providers,” said Gregory. “We also ask them, ‘How are you doing? How are you feeling and what do we have that we can offer you that will help you?’”
People of all demographics are encouraged to experience UrbanYou as a consumer or an employee.
“We are extremely inclusive and encourage diversity in our organization. It’s an important part of our brand because we do want to be the brand that people can trust, whatever the color of their skin is or [their] background or sexual preferences,” said Gregory.
UrbanYou is utilizing modern technology to help Michiganders achieve their best mental and physical wellness.
“There are a couple services we have [to best suit our clients]. We have one called NuCalm, we’re the only people in Michigan who offer that service…” said Gregory. “You put on a big vest, you sit in a dark room, it’s really quiet, and there’s a neurotransmitter… it allows you to stay strong and be focused.” UrbanYou also offers the Shape House Sweat Lodge, a promoter of weight loss, revitalized skin, less stress, etc.
With locations in Northville and Grand Rapids, UrbanYou strives to help clients confront their stressors head on with healthy coping mechanisms and promote the preservation of their mental state.
“The level of anxiety [had by a potential client] who doesn’t know what they’re going to get with UrbanYou goes down when they come in because they know they’re going to get taken care of. We want to help them become their personal best…,” said Gregory.
