The beloved Golden Girls are returning to the stage, bringing their signature sass, humor, and heartfelt friendships to Detroit. Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue, fresh off sold-out performances and rave reviews nationwide, will grace the historic Fisher Theatre from Thursday, Jan. 16 to Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025.
Tickets for the highly anticipated show will be available for pre-sale starting Thursday, Sept. 12 at GoldenGirlsTour.com, with public sales beginning Friday, Sept. 13. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase a special VIP photo experience, which includes an exclusive photo session with the cast on the iconic Golden Girls set after the performance. Ticket prices range from $35 to $85, plus applicable fees.
Set in 2024, Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue delivers a fresh and funny take on the Golden Girls’ Miami adventures. This time, Sophia finds herself in legal trouble after being caught running a drug ring for retirees. Meanwhile, Blanche and Rose have started a successful senior dating app, CreakN, and Dorothy navigates her complicated life with the help of a much younger, sex-crazed lover. Fans can expect the same outrageous humor, witty one-liners, and heartwarming moments that made the Golden Girls an enduring favorite.
Unlike other tributes, Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue is a professionally produced stage show, crafted by acclaimed playwright Robert Leleux, author of The Memoirs of a Beautiful Boy and The Living End. Directed by Eric Swanson, co-founder and Executive Director of The Detroit Actors’ Theatre Company, the production promises to bring the iconic characters to life in new and hilarious ways. The talented cast includes Ryan Bernier as Dorothy, Vince Kelley as Blanche, Adam Graber as Rose, Christopher Kamm as Sophia, and Tommy Favorite in dual roles as Stanley and Burt.
