Go House, Kayaking with Detroit’s General Service Department & Detroit Parks and Recreation

If you want something to do instead of, before or after the cookout, the city’s General Service Department (GSD) & Parks and Recreation will get you moving either way.

Today is the last day the 3-day Movement Festival, the electronic music celebration. House and EDM DJs such as Henry Brooks and Bonobo will take over six stages in and near downtown Detroit tonight from 2PM to 11PM. The GSD & Parks and Rec also a kayak meet-up today at Maheras Gentry Park, located at 12550 Avondale. The meet-up is from 2PM to 5PM. It’s free, open to the public and all ages are welcome.
