James Logan is the founder and CEO of Hire Level Coaching, a high-performance career coaching firm for young professionals. He is a regular guest on Fox 2 Detroit’s Job Shop and shares his expertise by sitting on panels, delivering keynote speeches and running weekly workshops. So far, Hire Level Coaching has helped more than 300 people advance their careers through one-on-one and group coaching services. Prior to running his company full-time, he served as the BBA Program Outreach Coordinator for the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where he helped underrepresented minorities gain access to one of the best undergraduate business programs in the world. Prior to Ross, James worked as the International Recruitment Coordinator for the University of Michigan-Flint where he traveled to more than 30 countries to recruit international students.

James graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Michigan in 2008. While a student at Michigan, James walked-on to the football team, winning a Big Ten Championship during his freshman season. As a result of his community service efforts, he won multiple campus and state-wide leadership awards. More recently, he won the “Five under 10 Award” by the University of Michigan Black Alumni given to five alum who graduated within 10 years for positively impacting the community. In 2012, he received the Black Male Faculty/Staff of the Year Award by Sigma Ghamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

James was born and raised in Detroit and attended public school his entire life. In 2010, James received the Alumni Achievement Award from his Alma Mater, Mumford High School in Detroit, where he gave the Class of 2010 Commencement Address.

In his spare time, James enjoys traveling, writing, reading and spending quality time with his wife Brittany, and their three sons, James II, Jacob, and Jackson.
