Tesenga Shá Duncan Smith is the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Michigan (U of M) Ross School of Business.  Shá provides strategic direction for diversity and inclusion policies and initiatives in the Michigan Ross Community. She works in collaboration with other U of M units and with institutions throughout the U.S. to share diversity and inclusion best practices and strategies to enhance the academic and social experiences of students.

Shá’s work includes fostering positive and inclusive environments that facilitate cross-cultural engagement and understanding.   Shá’s career exhibits a strong commitment to equity and access in higher education.  She conducts research and practices in the areas of equity and access in higher education.  Shá’s current study focuses on innovative higher education business models that constrain the cost of attendance and help to keep higher education accessible and attainable.

Shá is a doctoral candidate in Educational Management at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.  She earned a Master of Social Work Degree in Social Policy and Evaluation and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
