From the Skies to the Streets: Faith Xperience Church’s Easter Egg Drop Returns to Detroit

The skies above Medbury Street will soon be filled with more than just spring sunshine. This April 19, Faith Xperience Church (FX Church) is set to dazzle Detroiters once again with one of the city’s most eagerly awaited Easter traditions—the Annual Easter Egg Drop.

Imagine the excitement as a helicopter whirls overhead, releasing a colorful cascade of over 10,000 candy-filled eggs onto the church grounds at 2260 Medbury St., all in a thrilling celebration that promises joy, connection, and community. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., families from all corners of Metro Detroit are invited to gather for this high-flying holiday festivity.

But this event is about more than just eggs and excitement. For FX Church, it’s a heartfelt expression of their mission to be “in Detroit and for Detroit.”

Andre Butler, lead Pastor of FX Church, highlighted that impacting the community is a core pillar of FX church.

“Yearly, we look forward to our Annual Easter Egg Drop and Easter holiday festivities,” Pastor Butler said.

“We look forward to bringing families within our surrounding community together.”

In addition to the egg drop event, attendees will have access to a free clothing closet and other resources aimed at addressing practical needs within the community. This initiative reflects the church’s ongoing commitment to renewal and transformation in the Medbury and Chene neighborhoods.

The celebration doesn’t stop there. FX Church invites all to continue the Easter weekend festivities by attending one of two Easter Sunday worship experiences on April 20 at 9:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., available both in-person and online at myfaithx.com.
