It was on the sideline where an altercation unfolded between Michigan head basketball coach Juwan Howard and Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard. As a result, Howard will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season following a suspension announced by The Big Ten Conference, Monday. Both coached will be fined in a disappointing moment for college basketball.

The physical confrontation between coaching staff and players happened after the Wolverines loss to the Badgers, 77-63 on Sunday.

Howard appeared to avoid Gard in the tradition of sportsman-like shaking of hands by players and coaches. Gard grabbed Howard to slow him down and the Michigan head coach reacted. The situation escalated and clearly has everyone in the sports world talking.

Former Michigan basketball athlete Jon Horford who played from 2010-2014, weighed-in on the situation and says there is blame to go around on “both sides.”
