Flowers for Dreams, where every bouquet purchased benefits an amazing local charity, will begin full-service hours and free delivery throughout Metro Detroit beginning Tuesday, March 10.
Located at 1435 W. Farmer Street in the Shinola Hotel’s Parker’s Alley in downtown Detroit, Flowers for Dreams will donate 25 percent of all net profits to local charitable partners. Flowers for Dreams has given close to $600,000 to 90 local charities in Chicago and Milwaukee, their two current locations, since 2012 and will announce their inaugural Detroit charity partner in the coming weeks.
“We decided to open a store in Detroit for a variety of reasons but most importantly, we were drawn to the region’s strong sense of community and commitment to building and supporting their city, which we saw first-hand when people started visiting the store and voting for their favorite local charity,” said Flowers for Dreams co-founder Steven Dyme. “We look forward to partnering with many Detroit organizations as we establish our roots in the city. And now, with the store open seven days a week and offering free hand-delivery, we look forward to making Detroit even more beautiful, one bouquet at a time.”
The store held a soft opening last month leading up to Valentine’s Day and asked those first customers to nominate their favorite local charity as a possible Flowers for Dreams philanthropic partner. In one week, more than 200 customers visited the store and made more than 100 non-profit nominations, one of which will be selected as the first beneficiary.
