First Tee – Greater Detroit, the local nonprofit known for shaping character and empowering youth through golf, is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for two lucky golf enthusiasts—and it’s all for a great cause.
The organization has launched an exclusive raffle for the chance to win one of two grand prizes: playing spots in the prestigious Rocket Classic Delta Dental Pro-Am, scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Each winner will be able to bring a guest to tee up alongside PGA Tour pros at the Detroit Golf Club, in an event valued at $11,500 per player.
“The 2025 Rocket Classic is going to be an exciting event, with the chance to see PGA players navigate the Detroit Golf Club North Course as it is now before 2026 renovations. The money raised will assist in supporting youth and developing life skills through golf for kids aged 6 – 17 in Metro Detroit. This is an incredible opportunity not just to play in one of the most exciting golf events in the city, but to support the youth development work we do year-round at First Tee – Greater Detroit,” said Carl Bently, CEO of FTGD. “It’s about building confidence, teaching life skills, and giving back to the community in a meaningful way.”
The raffle tickets are $100 each and can be reserved online through First Tee’s website. The drawing will be held on June 7, and winners will be notified shortly thereafter. To participate, supporters must complete the entry form and follow the link provided to officially reserve their ticket(s).
The funds raised will support FTGD’s growing slate of youth programs, which use golf as a tool to teach leadership, integrity, and resilience to young people—many of whom come from underrepresented backgrounds in the sport. The organization continues to expand its impact across Metro Detroit, building character and life skills through golf and mentorship.
