First Independence Bank proudly offers Veterans Affairs home loan program

black veteransIt is with honor and pride that First Independence Bank continues to stand with those who have served, protected and defended our country through military allegiance and diligence.  We truly understand that our military families deserve good and affordable homes in safe communities, where good schools and great neighbors find commonality. As a salute to the more than 30 million Americans who have answered the call to serve their country, First Independence (Independence Mortgage) is pleased to offer the Veterans Affairs (VA) home loan program.  The program is designed to assist veterans to purchase homes with favorable terms, interest rates and other advantages.

Who Qualifies — Active duty military personnel, including reservists, members of the national guards and coast guards who meet minimum enlistment and bank qualification requirements.  Additionally, unmarried, surviving spouses of military personnel who were missing or killed in combat will qualify.  A qualifying veteran will be required to provide a Certificate of Eligibility.

Why Choose a VA Loan — There’s no money down, lower payments, and 100% financing.  The VA loan program offers homeownership opportunities for some veterans who may not qualify through conventional financing methods with other financial institutions.  Gift money from sources like parents is allowed for closing costs.  Additionally, there’s no monthly mortgage insurance and no prepayment penalties (assumable with re-qualifications).

First Independence Bank understands that there is no way to fully acknowledge the brave men and women of our armed forces for their sacrifice of time, talent, and even life.  So from the First Independence family, we simply say “Thank You.”  Therefore, if you are a veteran or a qualifying spouse who’s looking to purchase a good, affordable home, we would be honored to serve and assist you in your endeavors.
