A night of laughter, music, and philanthropy awaits as the beloved live stage production, More Than The Eyes Can See 5, takes its final bow on Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m. The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, Michael A. Guido Theatre in Dearborn, Michigan, will host this grand finale, promising a memorable experience that extends beyond entertainment. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Lupus Detroit, Shalady The Warrior Lupus Foundation, and the L.A.U.G.H. Foundation, a scholarship initiative supporting children in the arts.

The visionary behind More Than The Eyes Can See is none other than Detroit’s own Queen of Clean Comedy, Comedienne Crystal P. Since developing the show in 2010, she has championed humor that is both sharp and family-friendly. Joining her on this final production is Martez Jackson, the host of the inaugural show in 2016, who returns to emcee the farewell event. Grammy-nominated producer and musician Demetrius Nabors will take the stage as Musical Director, adding another layer of brilliance to the production.

“I came up with this idea of just bringing all the different facets of my life together on one stage,” Crystal said.

“The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose, and my purpose, I know, is to uplift others and put a smile on their face. If I can just uplift one person, it is the best feeling ever.”

For Crystal P., this performance is more than just an event; it is a testament to resilience, passion, and purpose. Diagnosed with lupus in 2015, she has become a dedicated advocate for those battling the autoimmune disease, which affects approximately 1.5 million Americans and 5 million individuals worldwide. How does she keep her light and laugh through it all?

“A lot of people have poured into me, and I try to pour into other people. LAUGH is an acronym for Learning and Understanding God’s Help,” she said.

“If I were to go today, my obituary would be filled of everything from traveling into over 34 countries, doing hair, baking, doing stand up, singing and playing many instruments.”

Renowned for her ability to bring audiences to laughter without resorting to vulgarity, Crystal P. has built a reputation for clean yet undeniably hilarious comedy. The production promises soul-stirring musical performances, unexpected surprises, and a celebration of humor and hope.

“Most people think, if you do a clean comedy if you’re doing Christian comedy, it’s not going to be funny. And I have shown that not to be true,” Crystal said.

“I live to entertain even as a child. I grew up in a time when children were supposed to be seen and not heard, and I was the child that had been seen and heard.”

With a show so unique, fans, followers, and supporters are asking why it is coming to an end. Crystal highlighted the ongoing high costs, and now it’s time for something different and the next phase of her life.

“Life is so short, so I’ll still do comedy, still do my shows, my private shows and travel. But I would like to step out and get back on the track field and see what I can do. I would like to compete in the Senior Olympics,” she said.”

“A lot of people don’t know that I used to throw the shotput and the discus. So I just want to step out and do something else in life.”

This performance is unlike anything typically encountered. Attendees have never experienced a show where a performer takes the stage, creates designs on clothing, delivers stand-up comedy, plays the grand piano, switches to the flute, then the bass guitar, followed by the drums, and finally the saxophone, all within a single performance.

“I want for everyone to leave Saturday night having had a unique experience, including a unique musical experience. This show is something you don’t see. It’s not a typical show that you would see every day.”
