In the most aggressive recruiting campaign in two years, Fifth Third Bank is looking to fill over 70 positions in Southeast Michigan.  The wide range of positions includes financial center managers, business development officers for the small business division, wealth management advisors, mortgage loan originators, and customer service representatives (tellers).  Jobs are full-time and part-time.

Both management and front line employees are needed to fill 31 replacement positions. Forty newly requisitioned jobs are needed to keep up with the demands of the business.

Looking toward a better tomorrow, Fifth Third Bank is intent on maintaining its number one status in customer satisfaction by gearing up for continued growth in new customers.

“Like everyone else, we experienced a contraction as the economy downturned in 2008,” said David Girodat, president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank Eastern Michigan.  “We now see returning growth, and satisfaction is our number one objective, which means we have to be staffed to take care of our customers. We are looking for candidates who have the talent to help us continue to grow our business.”

Geographically, the positions are dispersed throughout the region with a special need in Wayne, Shiawassee and Macomb counties.  Tactically, the bank is using all available means to find the best prospective employees.

“Our recruiters are using standard methods such as job sites, and they are setting up targeted events such as invitation-only job fairs and current employee referral incentives to reach the right candidates for our jobs,” said Rhonda Saunders, senior vice president and head of retail banking.  “We will model our current employees who are doing a fantastic job of servicing our customers and growing the business.”
