Fifth Third Bank Awards Grants to 53 Organizations To Mark Its Celebration Of Fifth Third Day

5TH3RDPTA

During the fifth month and  third day of each year, Fifth Third Bank celebrates Fifth Third Day. Fifth Third Bank celebrated its first Fifth Third Day in 1991.  Each year since then the Bank has found unique ways to celebrate the in-bank holiday that would include employees, customers and the community it serves.  It is now a time honored tradition to celebrate the bank that is synonymous with May 3.

In the midst of the celebration, along with the pizza and pop, balloons and confetti, the Bank also announces gifts to the community.  This has also become tradition for Fifth Third Day.

For the second year in a row, our employees had an opportunity to submit Employee Involvement Grants that were announced and distributed for Fifth Third Day. The grants were designed to reward employee volunteerism with local organizations.  Fity-three organizations were awarded grants on behalf of the Bank employees that nominated them.  Each organization that was awarded, fills an important need in its community.  Services that range from feeding the hungry to providing time, companionship and critical assistance to the elderly and infirm, tightens the threads in the fabric that binds communities together and represents the very best of human generosity.

Three of these organizations are highlighted in this section.  Each organization is grassroots, people helping people; things that demonstrate why celebrating these organizations are such a special event.
