Even though Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard created cinematic magic in the Oscar-nominated John Singleton-directed film Hustle & Flow, they’ve never created that magic off-screen or in the bedroom as they did during a recent episode on the blockbuster TV series “Empire.”
“I just knew it had to be him. When I read the script, I was like, ‘This is that deep love that you can’t explain, that you just see, and Terrence and I have that for each other,” Henson said.
Despite their onscreen chemistry they have never even had so much as a fling. Howard explained why they didn’t hook up while filming Hustle & Flow, according to Essence.
“We’re like father and daughter, mother and son, brother and sister. We’ve never been lovers. When I was doing ‘Hustle & Flow,’ I was like, ‘I know I’m playing this character right if all my female co-leads want to sleep with me.’ Taraji was the only one that didn’t want to.”
But as another famous co-star, Tyrese Gibson, once said, Henson isn’t one of those actresses who sleeps her way to the top. Her success is based off of her pure talent.
