Emeka Amazu is a Senior Buyer at General Motors (GM) where he currently helps the company execute strategic procurement initiatives in its global purchasing and supply chain organization. He is responsible for close to half a billion dollars in annual spend with GM suppliers. With over ten years of experience, his depth of expertise in procurement, negotiation, management, and business strategy spans across multiple domains including autonomous mobility and manufacturing, technology, sales, and transportation.

Emeka has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Howard University. He possesses a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the University of Michigan. He also holds a Supply Management certification (ISM).

Emeka is passionate about making an impact in the community. He’s the Vice President of Finance for the National Black MBA Association Detroit Chapter where he oversees financial controls, tax compliance, disbursements, and financial reporting. He is also a mentor for the chapter’s award-winning Leaders of Tomorrow program. Emeka is the Treasurer of JumpStart, GM’s largest Employee Resource Group and supports initiatives to boost employee engagement at General Motors.
