EAA Names Former Michigan Chronicle Editor Rian English Barnhill Communication Manager

HenryFordEducation Achievement Authority Chancellor Veronica Conforme today named former Michigan Chronicle managing editor Rian English Barnhill as the district’s new senior manager of communications. In her position, she will oversee internal and external communication programs for the reform district.
In addition to her editorship at the Chronicle, English Barnhill also served as senior editor of the former FrontPage Detroit and also as the Detroit regional editor for Uptown magazine.
EAA spokesman Robert Guttersohn continues in his current position and will handle media relations for the district. Prior to joining the EAA last year, Guttersohn worked as a senior reporter at C and G Newspapers.
We also have one of our team members starting a new venture. Mario Morrow has decided to leave his role with the EAA in order to prepare the launch his own consulting business Mario Morrow and Associates. His departure is effective November 2015.
“Rian is an experienced journalist and editor who brings valuable insight about how the authority can more effectively communicate with parents, teachers and the broader community,” Conforme said. “I also want to thank Mario Morrow for his dedication and hard work helping the EAA communicate to its numerous stakeholders; I wish him all success in his new endeavor.”
