Terri Weems

Terri Weems is the President of Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation, a nonprofit organization aimed at meeting the workforce needs of the city of Detroit, reducing poverty and increasing economic mobility. She is a multi-disciplined Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 20 years of experience spanning accounting, financial reporting, and auditing both in the US and abroad. She leverages this experience to resolve complex business issues, advise on internal control systems, and facilitate operational and strategic planning.

Weems is active in her community. She is an advocate for public education and children, serving as trustee for Farmington Public Schools since 2015 and currently serving as President of the School Board. She is heavily involved in mentoring youth throughout Detroit Public Schools and the metro Detroit area. She is the treasurer of her homeowner’s association and serves on the advisory board for DPSCD at MLK High School.

She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Michigan CPAs, and National Association of Black Accountants. Weems and her husband are the parents of three beautiful daughters.
