Georgina Tait

Georgina Tait is an educator, philanthropist, and community advocate who has served Metro Detroit youth and families for over 20 years. She is the principal of Mann Learning Community in Detroit and is known throughout the region as a transformational leader whose proven track record demonstrates what is possible when schools nurture a true love for learning in each step of a child’s educational journey. Tait has cultivated relationships with a vast network of community partners to ensure children and families have access to the services, supports, and opportunities they need to thrive. Outside of school, she has helped to develop and lead one of Metro Detroit’s most outstanding youth leadership programs for African American girls. She’s served as a Girl Scouts Troop Leader, church volunteer, and raises resources each year to fund cancer research and prevention initiatives. Tait is a Spirit of Detroit Award recipient and in 2019 was one of 5 Principal of the Year nominees. She is a graduate of Western Michigan and Wayne State Universities and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
