Coleman Alexander Young II, 39, City Councilman At Large for all Detroiters, served in the State House and Senate for 12 years. He passed 13 laws helping his constituents and resolved 12,000 constituent complaints, created 10,000 jobs with movie tax credits and appropriated $800,000,000 back to his district. He is focused on putting his legislative experience to use for the residents of Detroit. His priorities are: 1)Getting ALL Detroiters safely vaccinated to fully re-open the economy; 2)Neighborhood Public Safety and Development; 3)Streamlining Small Business Development Processes for Minority Businesses; 4)Establish a pilot guaranteed income program to address poverty; 5)Establish a Pilot Police Program for Advanced Peace, that includes Community Intervention; 6)Affordable Housing; and 7)Grants for Seniors and Residents for Home Improvement.
Coleman founded the Coleman A. Young II Educational Foundation to give free afterschool programs and laptops to Western, Renaissance and Martin Luther King High School students. These students attended Google and Princeton STEM Camps. He is a proud Tuskegee Airmen representing his father, Mayor Coleman A. Young and is a member of St. Paul Church of God In Christ.
