Casandra Shortridge has served with International UAW for eight years. In her current capacity and role she serves as an Administrative Assistant to UAW President Rory L. Gamble. She is responsible for interpreting the UAW Constitution, and carrying out the duties prescribed by the UAW International Constitution on behalf of the President and International Executive Board. Throughout her career she has always carried forth the rich history of community service that the UAW has established throughout the country. Shortridge has successfully collaborated with community partners to secure funding to expand public access to training programs, developed and implement new training programs. She has helped to coordinate & plan community initiatives which included collaborative efforts with warming centers, and community organizations; where volunteers would canvas the streets to provide sleeping bags to the homeless. She was helped to establish educational opportunities for youth which allowed them to become disciplined, focused, active and engaged, learn respect, build confidence and self-esteem, strengthen their mind, and become goal oriented. Shortridge believes in Unionism proudly and fiercely serves her organization.
