In anticipation of this year’s Angels’ Night weekend city of Detroit officials have called upon the community to participate in monitory the streets and vacant homes.
Minors starting today are under a strict and heavily enforced curfew to help prevent any dangerous and criminal activity.
DTE Energy employees read the memo and have decided to pitch in and serve as patrols In Detroit’s North End during the night often referred to as one of the city’s most dangerous nights.
Nearly 40 DTE vehicles will be patrolling with hazard lights to help discourage any arsenic activities and 80 employees will be on foot. DTE Energy has maintained a presence in the community through its outreach and door-to-door energy savings programs.
DTE has been a part of the Angels’ Night campaign for the last 15 years.
Historically, Detroit have struggled to contain fires and crime on the weekend of Halloween. In recent memory the city has stepped up its efforts to ensure safety and quick response to emergency this weekend.
Earlier this month signs with text reading “this building is being watched” where distributed and posted on abandoned homes by city workers and community members.
