Driver Killed after Bridge Collapses on Southfield Freeway

A driver of a dumpster hauler has reportedly died after a bridge collapsed on the Southfield freeway around 6 a.m. this morning.
According to Fox 2 news:

Police and MDOT officials say the dumpster hauler struck the bridge with its back end of the vehicle up, causing the collapse. The bridge did not collapse on any vehicles.

The roadway is closed in both directions from I-96 to Ford Road. No official timeline for clearing the roadway has been given yet, but according to officials it could take days.
