DPSCD Invites Rising Middle School Students to 2023 High School Expo 

Informative student-led town hall kicks off expo: schedule includes workshops, food and student performances.

Through an interactive student-led Town Hall followed by a high school expo, filled with activities, learning sessions and student performances, Detroit Public School Community District (DPSCD) is inviting middle school and specifically 8th-grade students and families, to come and explore its high schools at the 2023 Level Up to High School Expo. 

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Renaissance High School 6565 W. Outer Drive in Detroit.  

At the Level Up to High School Expo, eighth grade, future ninth grade students and their families will receive first-hand, in-person introductions to the high school journey to ensure a successful high school experience. They will have an opportunity to review DPSCD’s high school options which includes Neighborhood, Application and Examination high schools, Alternative Education as well as Career and Technical Education centers and their many partners. 

DPSCD is inviting all families with middle school students to join us for an all-high school showcase, please RSVP for the Townhall here. Drop ins are welcome from non-DPSCD students. Fun giveaways will be available for those who arrive first. 

The Level Up to High School Expo also features key student and family facing DPSCD departments and Community Partners with information on extracurricular activities, support services and DPSCD offerings that shape the high school experience: Career Pathways; workshops; onsite enrollment opportunities as well as food, student musical and athletic performances, a photo booth, giveaways and an upbeat vibe that are trademarks of DPSCD events.
