DPS Closing 20 Schools

UPDATED ANNOUNCEMENT: Detroit Public Schools has experienced a major outage of electrical service from the Detroit Public Lighting Department. PLD has advised that four substations have failures and that a return to power is not predictable. Therefore, the following schools will be closed and students will be released after their parents have been contacted. Teaching staff shall remain until all students have been returned to parents.
