Signed to BMB Entertainment, Detroit rapper Quarrion Phillips aka Que9 was just 12 years old when he made his debut in late 2015. Although the young MC started recording at the age of four, he officially hit the scene with his debut single, “2 Fresh 2 Fly.” Produced by Antt Beatz. His next track came in 2016 when he dropped the hip-hop dance track “Splash.”
Since that time Que9 has been making waves with his song “Splash”. If you search #QueSplashChallenge you will find thousands of fan videos on Instagram and Facebook showcasing their version of the 12-year-old rapper’s dance, thus making the song a certifiable viral sensation.
Que9 first performed “Splash” at his 2016 Easter Party in Detroit, Michigan to a crowd of over 200 kids. It was there he challenged the audience to do the dance and promised that EVERY submission would get posted and he’s kept his word. Que’s Instagram timeline became flooded with fun renditions and unique interpretations that incorporated everything from cartoons, trampolines and stickers to the Mona Lisa!
Recently, he appeared on Detroit themed talk show “What’s Good Detroit?” where he shared his thoughts about going viral.
“When I first started seeing the videos I couldn’t believe it”, Que said. “I expected to get a couple but it just kept going and it fueled me to go harder with my music. I really appreciate the support and I want everyone to know that this is just the beginning.”
He’s performed all over the country building his fan base and developing his artistry at big shows including Summer Jam and iHeart Memphis with label mate and “Sauce” creator Lil George, Silento, DLow and more.
Que9 is determined to show us that he is more than an Internet sensation as he drops his newest single, “Pep Rally” produced by The Crew. This song will appear on Que’s debut project Epidemic, slated for release November 11 via BMB Entertainment and available now for pre-order on iTunes. Parents who are looking for new music for their kids that is positive and age appropriate should check out Que9. This kid is talented, confident yet humble, business oriented, well mannered, but most importantly he’s a kid rapping about kid things which is being fly and having fun.
