Xavier A. Wilson
Xavier A. Wilson is the director of the Michigan League at the University of Michigan where he manages and leads the 130,000 square foot historic student union that opened in 1929 and today hosts approximately 5,000 events. The Michigan League includes a twenty-one room hotel, several food and retail operations, comfortable lounge space, and is a popular destination for conferences, weddings, and other special events.
Xavier also manages the leased retail spaces within the Michigan League, Michigan Union and Pierpont Commons, and advises the Michigan League Board of Governors and Friends of the Michigan League. With the Friends of the Michigan League, Xavier produces an annual dinner theatre fundraiser event.
Xavier’s experience includes more than 15 years of leadership, student engagement, and facility management in higher education including student unions, residence life and institutional advancement for both private and public institutions.
Xavier has a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Winona State University, Winona, Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Electronic Publishing from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He enjoys presenting dramatic readings of Dr. M. L. King’s I have a Dream speech, cooking Louisiana cuisine, and encouraging college students to be successful through motivational talks.
