Detroit Wellness Connection Summit to Promote Holistic Health and Community Well-Being March 30th

In honor of National Nutrition Month, The Village Personal Training and Wellness will host the Detroit Wellness Connection: Building Your Village, a community-centered wellness summit aimed at fostering health and well-being for Detroit residents. Taking place on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Bee’s Beauty Bar in Southfield, MI, the event will provide a welcoming space for attendees to engage with local wellness professionals, explore holistic health practices, and access essential resources for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Founded by Detroit native Christen Greenwood and her husband Christopher Greenwood, a former Detroit Lion and founder of the Greenwood Grounding Foundation, The Village Personal Training and Wellness is dedicated to making health and wellness accessible to individuals, families, and organizations throughout Detroit. Their collective offers a range of holistic fitness and recovery services, including personal training, yoga, meditation, doula care, sound healing, corporate wellness programs, and mobile gym access all aimed at empowering the community to take charge of their well-being.

Christen Greenwood, highlighted this event isn’t just a wellness event but an open invitation to reconnect with oneself and with others in a meaningful, intentional way,

“We’re building a space where healing isn’t an afterthought—it’s a priority,” Greenwood said.

“Our mission is to bring people together around wellness that feels culturally relevant, spiritually aligned, and community rooted.”

The summit aims to bring together health professionals, small business owners, and community members to foster a shared commitment to health equity and collective healing. Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in various wellness activities and educational discussions curated by The Village Personal Training and Wellness. The event will feature offerings such as massage therapy, sound baths, assisted stretching, meditation, and holistic wellness facilitation, all designed to promote recovery, restoration, and empowerment.

The event will feature dynamic panel discussions led by respected community leaders and entrepreneurs, moderated by wellness instructor and influencer Chelsea Walker. These discussions will delve into the power of mentorship, accountability, personal branding, and storytelling essential tools for building sustainable personal and professional relationships.

The panel will feature several inspiring leaders from various fields focused on wellness and entrepreneurship. Among them are the co-founder of Birth Detroit, who supports new parents in their journeys; the creator of The Mushroom Angel Company, promoting the benefits of mushrooms; the co-founder of a running group called We Run 313, encouraging fitness and community; the founder of the Chip Bag Project, which aims to empower youth through creativity; the owner of Bee’s Beauty Bar, a place that offers beauty services; and the owner of Trap Yoga, a unique yoga studio. Each panelist brings valuable insights on how wellness can enhance both business and our everyday lives.

The organization has strong partnerships with Birth Detroit, Detroit Phoenix Center, BasBlue, Fourth Tri Sanctuary, Natures Playhouse, Henry Ford Health, DBCFSN, and Chloe Monroe Art Gallery. Thanks to these partnerships, The Village has been able to provide better access to maternal health and wellness services and create community programs that welcome everyone.

General admission is $55, which includes entry, lunch, a guided sound bath and meditation session, and professional headshots.
