Detroit To Host Inaugural Market Event, The Mercantile, October 16

raven-and-lilyOn Sunday, October 16, The Eastern Detroit (2424 Russell Detroit, MI 48207) will host The Mercantile, a first-of-its-kind cause-based shopping experience professionally curated by former HGTV lifestyle personality Emily Henderson. Created by former metro Detroiter Matthew Ford, the event includes more than 25 participating retailers and brings together a mix of consumers, entertainers, and socially-conscious brands for an organic blend of commerce, cause, and community. “The goal for The Mercantile is to create a sustainable marketplace that travels around the country celebrating brands and socially conscious entrepreneurs that are making an impact in their communities and around the world,” said The Mercantile proprietor Matthew Ford.
Ford is joined in partnership for The Mercantile with Steve Fortunato, owner of roomforty and The Fig House, and Shanna Strassberg, a veteran talent booker and producer.
Tickets for the event are $15 in advance and $22 at the door and includes event entertainment, signature event cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, one free cocktail beverage voucher (for those 21 and older) as well as access to merchandise from socially conscious brands based in Detroit and other markets throughout the US.
