Detroit to celebrate state-of-the-art McDonald's grand re-opening today

mcdonalds.jpg.jpgDetroit McDonald’s restaurant owner Errol Service will celebrate the grand re-opening of his newly redesigned restaurant located at 3975 Conner Street in Detroit on Friday, September 9.

 This morning from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., Service will host a private reception with special guests State Senator Coleman Young II, Congressman John Conyers, Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, City of Detroit Council President Brenda Jones, City of Detroit District 4 Councilman Andre Spivey, McDonald’s regional staff, managers and crew. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m.that will include donations to Mack Alive and Riverbend Community Association which support residents on the east side of Detroit.

“As a local business owner who lives and works in the community, I have always felt strongly about supporting my customers who share my passion for this great city,” said Service.

Immediately following the reception, the doors will open to the public at 11:30 a.m. The first 75 dine-in customers at the 24-hour restaurant will each receive a commemorative mug.

Customers will have the opportunity to enter-to-win a $75 gift card provided by Dr. Pepper from September 9 through September 30. The winner will be announced in late October. No purchase necessary.

“It is an honor to serve our customers who live and work in the community,” said Service.

Other grand re-opening events and promotions include:

·         2 – 4 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 9 – Angie Starr with 105.9 FM

·         4 – 6 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 9 – Face painting for children and video game truck

·         11 a.m. on Fri., Sept. 9 through 2 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 10 – $4.99 Big Mac Meal

·         3 – 7 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 10 – Bounce house and free ice cream for children

·         3:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 10 – Free children’s vision screenings

·         Through Sept. 30 – $1 Egg McMuffin from 6 – 10:30 a.m.

In addition to the Conner location, Service owns and operates 15 McDonald’s restaurants in Detroit, Eastpointe, Harper Woods, Highland Park, St. Clair Shores and Warren.

Highlights of the remodeled restaurant include soft cushion seating, high-top tables, comfortable lighting, free Wi-Fi Internet, a flat screen TV and an updated décor throughout. Youth will enjoy two tables that feature free interactive games. The restaurant’s updated exterior landscaping complements the neighborhood and includes a dual lane drive-thru to increase efficiency for on-the-go customers.
