Detroit Recovery Project hosts conference to empower, revitalize and renew

DRP Women's Recovery Conference
The Detroit Recovery Project will host its 4th Annual Women’s Conference on Friday, April 10 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Westside Recovery Resource Center, 1145 W. Grand Blvd. in Detroit. Over 200 women in various stages of recovery will gather for this FREE one-day women’s conference to increase awareness, empower, and restore.
“The Revitalized, Refreshed & Recovering Woman” Conference will be a renewing day of power packed workshops on meditation, balancing recovery, parenting, navigating the legal system, and inspiring testimonies. Guests will enjoy a continental breakfast, full lunch, childcare services and transportation. Dr. Gail Parker, a licensed psychologist, with over 30 years experience in private practice and has appeared on the “Oprah” show seven times, will facilitate the workshops. Famed radio personality, CoCo from 105.9 FM will serve as the Mistress of Ceremony.
CEO of the Detroit Recovery Project, Andre Johnson believes, “that by helping our clients rebuild each part of themselves, they can become whole again. If the laws of attraction hold true, then a whole and healed person can attract a whole and healed situation –restored family.”
The Detroit Recovery Project has deepened its offerings for co-occurring illness that attack the sobriety of their clients. Nearly 80 percent of those who walk through DRP’s doors are battling more than one demon. Whether battling mental illness, substance abuse, addiction, or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, DRP is equipped to meet the needs of all clients who are committed to do the work required for a breakthrough.
Companies and medical professionals are encouraged to support this conference. Vendor tables will be available at no cost. Volunteers targeting areas of employment, self-esteem and empowerment, physical and mental health and finance are greatly needed.
