Consumers looking to live the high life can soon find help from a local music artist. Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley has teamed up with a neighborhood dispensary for a new line of cannabis goods.

Levels Cannabis, located in Center Line, is now the exclusive dispensary for rapper Tee Grizzley’s debut in the cannabis industry. Grizzley Gas, the performer’s first-ever flower, is both grown and sold by the dispensary. Curated by Grizzley, who first saw success with single First Day Out in 2017, has been in production for more than two years.

“This has been in the world for about three years. Since 2019, we started coming up with ideas. We didn’t want to just rush nothing out there. We wanted to make sure we covered all our ground and make sure we had a great product to bring home,” says Tee Grizzley.

Now released, the original Grizzley Gas is one of four strains to be released. In addition to the original bud, Marshmallow OG, Jet Fuel Gelato and East Side OG are all included in the Grizzley Gas brand.

“It’s exciting to work together with Tee Grizzley and develop fresh and unique strains for both his fans and Levels fans to enjoy,” says Awsem Zbair, Director of Operations at Levels Cannabis. “We’re a Michigan brand, so having a huge Detroit name like Tee Grizzley is a big deal for us. Grizzley Gas is going to blow some minds, and we expect it to sell out fast.”

A proud native, the west side rapper has deep ties to the city and wanted to produce a product that was true to what Detroit embodies and represents his love for the city.

“I picked Levels because it’s Michigan-based. I could’ve partnered up with a lot of people, but I wanted to do something at home for the crib. I believe in Levels and I believe in their product,” says Tee Grizzley.

The collaboration between the cannabis brand and the Detroit rapper has plans of continuing beyond the initial releases of the four debut strains. Wanting to help shift the stigma of marijuana, the strains can be used for both medicinal and recreation.

“Cannabis, in general, helps people out,” says Grizzley. “I know a lot of people who smoke for recreational and medicinal reasons.”

A Detroit brand, the Levels Cannabis team is equipped with more than 10 years in the business. Levels Cannabis will also be celebrating its grand opening. With the first of 16 dispensaries of its kind set to open, the dispensary is hosting a two-day festival to commemorate. To make the pot sweeter, Levels Cannabis will give away a 2021 Dodge Challenger.

Levels Cannabis will also gift the first 100 guests each day of the festival with exclusive prizes from their local partners such as Hydro Capitol, Wild Bill’s, Exclusive Brands, Stiizy, Wana Brands, Chewii, MKX, Barracuda and Tree Town.

“We have a lot of excitement planned. We’ll have different promotions as far as really giving value for your dollar as a shopper while at the same time, bringing that customer service element that’s kind of been missing from this industry,” says Zbair.

In addition to the goal of launching a total of 16 dispensaries, Levels Cannabis also hopes to open three cultivation centers and a processing center by early 2022.

Levels Cannabis grand opening festival will take place August 20 and 21 from 11am until 7pm. Food trucks will be available as well as special promotions, product displays and the Dodge Challenger Giveaway. To enter for a chance to take home the American muscle car, participants can gain entry by downloading the Levels app via Playstore or the Apple App Store, entering with front desk staff at Levels in Centerline, follow the company on Instagram and Facebook, liking and tagging friends on social platforms and submitting an online entry.
