To help recruit high-quality educators at all grade levels, Detroit Public Schools will host a Teacher Interview Fair on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Hotel St. Regis Detroit, located at 3071 W. Grand Blvd.
The teaching positions will build upon the district’s current talent acquisition pool and will offer candidates the opportunity to engage in one-on-one interviews with current school principals.
Applications are being accepted for American Sign Language, Early Childhood, English Language Arts, Math, Music, Science, Secondary Vocational-Day Trade (Nursing, Marketing, Ergo Science/Horticulture), Special Education and World Languages (Spanish, Bilingual Spanish, Japanese, Bengali, French).
Among the available teaching positions is arts education, which aligns with a key initiative of the district’s new five-year Strategic Plan—bringing arts and music programs back to all DPS elementary/middle schools.
Current teachers employed by the district do not need to attend. Candidates interested in filling any teaching position must visit https://detroitk12.org/employment/ and complete an online application for the appropriate job posting in order to be admitted to the Teacher Interview Fair. Applicants can also call 313-873-6897 or 313-240-4377 for more details.
