Detroit Lions and Toys for Tots partner for Christmas toy drive

The Detroit Lions are hosting a toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots at Ford Field beginning December 9 and concluding December 15, 2019 at the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 PM EST.
Fans are encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts to donate to the local campaign of Toys for Tots, a national initiative of the U.S. Marine Corps, to deliver toys to underserved communities during the holiday season. All fans are welcome to bring unwrapped gifts December 9-13 to Gate G at Ford Field from 9-5 p.m., but fans that bring toys to donate on game day to the POWERHOME Solar booth at Pride Plaza will have the opportunity to receive a co-branded holiday ornament while supplies last.
“Giving back to the community is an important part of POWERHOME’s fabric,” said POWERHOME CEO Jayson Waller. “That’s why it was so easy to say yes to partnering with the Lions in helping to bring as many people as possible a joyful holiday season, especially those who need it most.”
On December 15, unwrapped toys also will be accepted at Gates A, B, C, D and G.
Fans also can take a photo putting their toy in a bin and post it to their social channels using #LionsHuddleFor100 and it will count towards the club’s volunteer minutes. The NFL is driving a season-long club competition by awarding monthly community-focused prizes to top-ranking clubs based on volunteer minutes determined by use of their hashtag in celebration of NFL 100. The community-focused grand prize at the end of the season will be awarded to the club with the most volunteer minutes.
There will be no toy collection on Saturday, December 14. For more information about the Lions 2019 Toy Drive, visit www.detroitlions.com/toydrive.
Tickets for the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers December 15 are still available at www.detroitlions.com/tickets.
